FAQs

What should I do if I have a dental problem including toothache?

GPs are not trained to provide dental care.

If you do not have a dentist and need emergency treatment, you can call the Seven Trees emergency dental service by ringing 0845 155 8070 or 01392 822348

Can you help me stop smoking?

Yes we can! We have two health care assistants, Magda and Caroline, who are trained smoking cessation advisors.  Just ask at reception for an appointment.

Why isn't my prescription ready?

We ask you to allow two full working days for us to get your prescription ready.   This allows for time for the doctors to review your medication and address any problems that may be identified.

Can I have a sick note?

If you are only off work for a week, you do not need a doctor's note. You can complete a self certification form and your employer should legally accept this. Self certification notes can be obtained from reception or you can download one here

Employees must give their employer a doctor’s ‘fit note’ (previously called a ‘sick note’) if they’re off sick for more than 7 days in a row.  Please contact the surgery if you need one of these.  You will need to allow 2 full working days for this to be issued.

Why do GPs charge for letters and reports?

I have been called by a company, saying my practice has given them information about my medical history.  Is this true?

There have been a number of reports of patients being cold-called in this way.

If you receive a call like this please report it to on-line or by phone to Action Fraud
